Bull Riders Succeed in Turquoise Rodeo Finals Day Two Featured

Four Cowboys Survive Bull Rides After No Riders Place on Opening Night 

PRESCOTT VALLEY- Opening night of the Professional Rodeo Cowboy’s Association Turquoise Circuit Rodeo Finals was dominated by the bulls in the bull-riding competition as not a single cowboy recorded a ride. On day two, the cowboys reigned supreme as four individuals survived the ride for a placement.

“It was good to see some of us stay on, we had trouble last night,” Bull-rider from Alamogordo, New Mexico Joseph Vazquez said. “It’s good to see us get some bulls rode.”

Vazquez placed first in the competition Friday night, October 6th, with a score of 88.

“Turned back the weight of my hand, rode him really good,” Vazquez said. “Everything came right, got my little girl with me, just a really good event. Really good pen of bulls.”

Meanwhile, Lon Danley, a bull-rider from Tularosa, New Mexico, finished second in round two with a score of 85.5 and Las Vegas, New Mexico native Jose Greigo finished third with 79.5.

Scottie Knapp finished out round-two of the bull-riding competition with a score of 73.

The final round takes place at 7 pm on Saturday, October 7th at the Prescott Valley Event Center. Doors open at 5:30 pm and tickets can be purchased either at the door or by calling  800-745-3000.
