The Central Yavapai Metropolitan Planning Organization Executive Board meets at 3 Wednesday afternoon to consider a potential partnership.

The Flagstaff Metropolitan Organization and the Northern Arizona Council of Government are seeking the partnership for a regional safety plan.  The Council would make payment for a Highway Safety Improvement Grant that’s due April 1st.  The plan would start in Fiscal Year 2023.  Also during its meeting in the Yavapai County Administrative Building on Fair Street in Prescott, the Executive Board will consider amendments to the Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program.  Changes include a 350 thousand dollar Highway User Revenue Fund exchange for the Highway 89 pavement preservation project and 10 thousand dollars for the Distracted Driving Program.

The Mayer Public Library is open to the public once again.

Yavapai County Free Library District officials say the extreme snowstorm that blanketed the area last month has delayed work on the Library remodel. The Library has been closed since February 18th and it was scheduled to reopen last Monday.  Thanks to a more than 32 thousand dollar grant from the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records, the Library on Wicks Avenue is getting a new circulation desk, a meeting room for up to 16 people, bring your own device stations and new carpet and furniture.  A grand reopening and 50th anniversary celebration is set to take place on Wednesday, May 15th.  Starting today, the regular hours of 9 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Saturday will resume.
