Bill's Newscast: Christmas Tree Pickup This Week

City of Prescott will pickup Christmas trees this week at no extra charge.

The Yavapai College Governing Board will decide whether they want a new Chairperson and Secretary or to keep the current ones.

The Board selects a Chair and Secretary every January. The expectation is these are 2 year terms, but the Board may decide otherwise. Chairwoman Patricia McCarver and Secretary Steve Irwin are finishing up a year in these positions. Following Chair and Secretary elections, the Board will discuss and appoint liaisons for 1 year terms to certain committees, including the Association of Community College Trustees, the Arizona Association for District Governing Boards and the Verde Valley Board Advisory Committee. The Board’s first meeting of the year starts at 1 tomorrow afternoon in the Prescott Valley Center on Panther Path off Glassford Hill Road.

Prescott’s Solid Waste Division will be picking up live Christmas trees this week.

Trash collectors will pass through each City neighborhood 1 time only through this Friday. Have your trees curbside by 6 on your normal collection day and cleared of all ornaments and stands. No artificial trees will be picked up. Customers who miss their collection day can dispose of their trees at the Sundog Ranch Road Transfer Station for free anytime through January 23rd.
