Anderson obliterates previous record.

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Ariana Anderson (SO/Torrance, Calif.) of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) women's cross country already holds the fastest 5K time in California Pacific Conference history, but at The Mustang Invitational on Saturday morning she obliterated her previous best running a 17:09.4 and winning the event.

ERAU's No.1 is running at a ridiculous pace right now and is the favorite to be the Cal Pac's Runner of the Year again in 2019. The sophomore ran the race at a blistering 3:26 per kilometer pace almost 13 seconds faster than the second place finisher did. Anderson outran some quality competition as the race saw over ten different NCAA Division I and II programs.

ERAU as a team ran a good race; the Eagles finished ninth 31 different teams. Out of the NAIA schools, ERAU finished with the third best team score. Emily Simon (FR/Peoria, Ariz.) finished as the Eagles second scorer at 18:46. Lizzie Simon (FR/Peoria, Ariz.) and Meah Wilson (SO/Kingman HS) finished only seconds apart at 19:10 and 19:11.

With only one more race until the Cal Pac Championships, the Eagles have to be considered the favorites to win the conference again. The Eagles will run at the UCR Highlander on October 18, where some of the conference's fastest times were recorded last year.
