Bagdad, AZ & Congress, AZ: Library lovers in Bagdad and Congress are buzzing with excitement. Beginning June 17th, both of these branches of the Yavapai County Free Library District are adding a day to their schedules. This increases Bagdad’s open hours by 33% and Congress’ by 27%. This expansion of service was made possible through increased efficiency and has no impact on the District’s budget.
“I cannot believe it is almost time to finally have our new hours. I have not heard much feedback besides people being excited for the extra day! Personally, I think the patrons will enjoy having another day to stop by the library, and so many people need a notary on Monday mornings, so hopefully that will help bring patrons in also,” noted Bagdad Library Coordinator Trina Keil.
Coordinators at both branches report that patrons are thrilled to have more options and extra time to visit their libraries, so they can socialize, browse the movie selections, and not have to make an extra trip to town, among other reasons.
Bagdad Public Library hours will be
Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 5 pm.
Congress Public Library hours will be
Tuesday through Friday from 10 am to 4 pm & Saturday 9 am to 1 pm.
District 1 Supervisor Rowle Simmons added, “Our libraries benefit their communities. Adding
hours at no cost to the taxpayer is a big benefit and a win-win proposition.”
