10th Annual Prescott Film Festival Starts Tonight! Featured

Tonight is Opening Night for the Prescott Film Festival, and it’s starting off in grand fashion!

It’s the 10th Annual Prescott Film Festival, and there’s no better way to launch than with the premiere of Wish Man,  the story of Frank Shankwitz, a former motorcycle cop with the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS)  Shankwitz had no idea that an encounter with a young boy named Chris who was battling leukemia, would be the beginning of an organization that would bring hope and joy to  hundreds of thousands of children across the world. You see, Chris was the child who inspired Shankwitz to create the Make-A-Wish Foundation in 1980.

"We are THRILLED to open the 10th annual festival with the premiere of this film about long time Prescott resident and co-founder of the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Frank Shankwitz,” writes Helen Stephenson in the opening comments for the Film Festival’s program.

Wish Man’s tagline reminds us that, “Everyone can be a hero.” This is a story that will move and inspire you.

A few tickets are still available for tonight’s showing at the Yavapai College Performing Arts Center website or at the box-office. Filmmakers will be in attendance, followed by a Cabaret Party, sponsored by El Gato Azul. (Ticket information is at the end of the article.)
