NACOG & Workforce Development Board Officer Elections Featured

The NACOG and Yavapai County Workforce Development Boards held officer elections last week.

Northern Arizona Council of Governments Economic Development Council Officer Elections

The Northern Arizona Council of Governments (NACOG) Economic Development Council (EDC) recently had their Election of Officers for Program Year 2018-19. Mr. Paul Watson, Navajo County Assistant Manager/Economic Development Director, was elected Chairman of the EDC. Mr. Watson is a long-time resident of Pinetop-Lakeside. He is also serves on NACOG’s Regional Council, and as the Executive Director of REAL Az Development Council. Mr. Watson is on the Board of Directors of Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center and serves as chairman of the White Mountain Partnership, and on various other boards and councils.

Mr. Richard Bowen, Associate Vice President of Northern Arizona University was elected Vice-Chairman to the Council. Mr. Bowen engages business, community and economic development organizations around the State of Arizona to partner and maximize the University’s tremendous resources to grow Arizona’s economy. He has also served as the President of the Economic Collaborative of Northern Arizona (ECoNA), a Flagstaff-based regional economic development organization.

Mr. Paul Ramsey was elected as Chair-At-Large for the EDC. Mr. Ramsey is the City Manager for the City of St. Johns. He has been with the City for 18 years, and had previously operated a logging and road construction company in Northern Arizona for 18 years prior to going to work with St. Johns. Mr. Ramsey enjoys fishing and camping in the beautiful White Mountains in his spare time.

Yavapai County Workforce Development Board Officer Elections

The Yavapai County Workforce Development Board (WDB) recently had their Election of Officers for Program Year 2018-19. Ms. Anita Payne was re-elected as Chairman of the Board. Ms. Payne is a consultant for APS and Project Manager for Warren Savage Development in Prescott, Arizona. She also works part-time for the Yavapai Symphony Association. She has served on several local organizations, including Prescott Area Leadership and Prescott Downtown Partnership, among others. Ms. Payne resides with her husband Royce in Prescott.

Mr. Philip Tovrea was elected Vice-Chairman of the WDB. Mr. Tovrea is the President/Operating Manager of United Verde Materials & Crane. A former Mayor of the Town of Jerome, Mr. Tovrea has been a member of the WDB since 2010. He is a resident of the Town of Jerome and has been an active member of the community, serving as the volunteer fire chief from 1973 to 1994.
