Bill's Newscast: City of Prescott to Say Goodbye to City Clerk DeLong Featured

Dana DeLong has been the city clerk in Prescott for over 3 years

City of Prescott will say goodbye to City Clerk Dana DeLong at the end of this month.

The Prescott City Council meets at 9:30 tomorrow morning to discuss applications for the City Clerk position.  Dana DeLong, who has served as City Clerk since December 2013, is leaving her position effective June 1st.  DeLong is taking a similar position with the City of Chandler.  City of Prescott officials had posted the position and applications were due May 12th.  As part of the search for a new City Clerk, Council members Billie Orr, Jim Lamerson and Steve Sischka have been appointed to a special committee.  Council may also interview applicants during the special session, which is closed to the public and will be held in the Lower Level Conference Room at City Hall, located on South Cortez Street.  The Prescott City Council will hold a second closed session in that same location at 1:30 tomorrow afternoon.  Discussion is scheduled to occur on various Public Works street projects, including Marina and Alarcon streets and the Willis and Cortez Streets Intersection Project.

Road construction delays near Cottonwood to be expected

Watch for delays on Highway 260 and I-17.   ADOT crews will be applying surface sealant on 2 miles of Highway 260 near Cottonwood.  Work is scheduled to occur during daylight hours today and tomorrow.  The roadway will be reduced to 1 lane with a pilot car guiding alternating traffic through the work zone.  Sealant has been applied to a 14 mile segment of the roadway in the Camp Verde area.   Meanwhile, I-17 near Flagstaff will be narrowed to 1 lane until 4:30 this afternoon for paving work.  Drivers are asked to proceed through the 2 mile work zone with caution and keep an eye out for construction personnel and equipment.
