Suspect's Girlfriend Arrested for Hindering Prosecution Featured

Keeping information from law enforcement regarding her boyfriend’s whereabouts resulted in an arrest.

jamescodyscott smallJames Cody ScottUPDATE – On April 30, 2017, the suspect’s girlfriend, 18-year-old Miranda Morella, was arrested for one count of Hindering Prosecution, a felony. She was booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center and remains in-custody on a $2500 bond. Her booking photo is attached. The initial media release and prior email documenting the arrest of suspect Scott is included.

YCSO deputies had contact with Morella several weeks prior during area searches for suspect Scott and clearly advised her regarding Scott’s multiple warrants. Morella had apparently driven Scott to the Family Dollar Store just before deputies arrived on April 30th. When Scott saw deputies, he exited her vehicle and ran. Deputies also found surveillance video showing Scott and Morella together at the Family Dollar on the previous Monday.

FYI - As indicated in the initial press release: "A warning - Those who aid in concealing/harboring this suspect could be considered for prosecution."
