With A Spring Acting Course the Bard Himself Would Approve

Sedona Arts Center has teamed up with Red Earth Theatre to offer an incredible opportunity to study with a professional Shakespearean actor, Scott Coopwood. The week-long course, Shakespeare Alive!, will be offered from May 22 to 29 at The Posse Grounds Hub, and registration is now open to those who want to connect with the Bard of Stratford in a new way.

A native of Arizona, Coopwood is a professional actor with a passion for Shakespeare. As a teacher and co-founder of theatre education program, SHAKESPEARINCE! he has shared the art of Shakespeare around the country.

Open to all ages, Coopwood’s upcoming Sedona workshop will focus on speaking the language of Shakespeare on stage, include two stage-fighting classes, and culminate in a class finale presentation. Participants can attend all five sessions or select their areas of interest.

The Arts Center offers financial assistance through its ongoing scholarship program, and a simple application is available online or at the Arts Center’s office in Uptown. For information about enrolling, financial assistant, or upcoming creative development opportunities, contact them at (928) 282-3809.

Sedona Arts Center was founded almost 60 years ago to foster the creative life of Sedona. The nonprofit cultural organization now operates a Fine Art Gallery with the work of over 100 local artists, offers hundreds of arts education classes and workshops, and produces festivals, special events, and community partnerships.
