Tempe Police Community Alert: Indecent Exposure (w/ Suspect Sketch)

On October 1, 2014, shortly after 12:00 noon, an adult male committed Public Sexual Indecency in the chapel of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, in the 2000 block of S. Rural Rd., Tempe, AZ.

An adult observed the suspect through an open door of the church, while walking through the parking lot.  Other than the adult victim, no other individuals were present during the incident, and the suspect was unknown to the victim.

The adult victim who observed the suspect masturbating contacted the staff office; Tempe police were called and arrived quickly to search the church, grounds and surrounding area. The adjacent school grounds were searched as well, but the suspect was not located.

Although the suspect had no contact with children, school administrators sent an email shortly after the incident was reported to parents whose children attend the adjacent Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic School, to assure they were aware of the incident.
