By Captain Michael Young, PIO January 14, 2017 798

Mock disaster for students.

Glendale, Ariz. On Friday, January 13, the Glendale Fire Department, Southwest Ambulance, Air Evac, and Mountain Ridge High School Medical and Sports Science students participated in a large-scale MOCK disaster scenario drill on the school football field.

The exercise tested the students’ emergency medical skills. Students from theater and drama classes participated as victims from a huge accident wearing realistic makeup, which gave an accurate representation of what an accident scene looks like.

The drill included fire trucks, an ambulance, as well as an Air Evac helicopter that landed on site to transport a victim.

At the conclusion of the training, all students got an up close and personal look at the emergency vehicles that participated in the exercise.
