Delays if you plan on traveling on Highway 260.
Watch for delays if you plan on traveling on Highway 260 this weekend. ADOT officials say a large crowd is expected to attend Arizona State University’s annual Camp Tontozona football scrimmage. The eastbound lanes between Kohl’s Ranch and Christopher Creek, about 15 miles from the Town of Payson will be closed from 10 tonight to 2 Sunday morning to allow parking along Highway 260. Drivers who won’t be stopping at camp tontozona will be directed to use a lane on the westbound side of the highway. In addition, Highway 87 is narrowed to 1 lane in both directions near the town of Sunflower due to a road improvement project. ADOT officials are asking those who plan on attending the scrimmage to obey the speed limit and follow signs and message boards to the designated parking area.
