Bill's Newscast: Road Work from City to State

Roadwork from Prescott streets to the Interstate.

ADOT crews starting pavement improvement projects.

If you travel overnight on Highway 69, expect delays.  ADOT crews will start a pavement improvement project on 7 miles of 69 from Dewey-Humboldt to Prescott Valley.  While this work is occurring, the roadway will be narrowed to 1 lane in each direction.  Work hours are 8 pm to 6 am today through Thursday and next Sunday, June 18th to Thursday, June 22nd.  Meanwhile, at the Sunset Point Rest Area on I-17, restrooms, drinking fountains and vending machines won’t be available from 9 to 10 tomorrow morning.  Motorists can still stop at the rest area near Cordes Junction, but services won’t be available while the power is out.  The other ADOT rest area along I-17 between Phoenix and Flagstaff is in the town of McGuireville near Rimrock.

Union Street construction

Watch for delays on Union Street due to road construction this week. City of Prescott Street Maintenance crews will be repairing the roadway between Marina and Cortez Streets today through Friday.  The eastbound traffic lane will be closed during the 6:30 am to 2 pm work hours.  Limited parking will be available in the area of the repairs.  Drivers are asked to use alternate routes whenever possible.  Also this week, City of Prescott crews will be performing earth work and installing drain pipes for the new Acker Park storm water detention basin.  Large trucks and heavy equipment will be accessing the project site at South Virginia Street and Canyon Breeze Court.  Acker Park trail users are asked to be careful when hiking near construction personnel and equipment.  Work hours are 7 am to 6 pm.
