Documented, Undocumented: No Difference to Prescott Valley Police

Prescott Valley Police released a statement to the community that all crimes should be reported, even if the individual reporting the incident is not of legal status in the United States. According to the release, a recent incident illustrated this issue as a undocumented resident was assaulted by other undocumented residents but did not report the crime because he was afraid of law enforcement. In a statement, Prescott Valley Police Chief Bryan Jarrell stated: “The Prescott Valley Police Department is here for ALL residents. We cannot be a safe community if some members of the Town are fearful to approach law enforcement because of their immigration status.”

Nominate PV to win $20K during “Meet Me at the Park’ in April”

According to the town of Prescott Valley’s Heidi Dahms Foster, the National Recreation and Park Association is collaborating with the Walt Disney Company and it’s various branches to revitalize parks across the U.S. for a third year during Earth month. The release stated that the city which receives the most nominations will be rewarded with a $20,000 great to improve a local park. The release stated, Prescott Valley residents can nominate their hometown by visiting NRPA.com/BeInspired. Additionally, those who those who nominate a city are entered to win a tabled outfitted for the outdoors, the release stated.

Embry Riddle Awarded $65,000 Grant for Active Learning Center

 Embry Riddle Aeronautical University’s Jason Kadah announced the school has been selected to receive a $65,000 grant to design, furnish and implement an active learning classroom through the Active Learning Center program. According to the release, Embry Riddle was one of eight colleges to receive the grant out of 961 applicants and was selected based on it’s proposed active learning strategies and research questions.

 On Saturday, Prescott Little League hosted it’s Opening Day ceremonies as four-hundred and ninety players will participate this year along with over 100 coaches.
