Phoenix, AZ – February 14, 2017 – To celebrate the State of Arizona’s 105th birthday, Rainbow Ryders Hot Air Balloon Ride Company, the nation’s largest hot air balloon ride company, is giving a truly one-of-a-kind gift – a new Arizona themed hot air balloon. The new hot air balloon has been named Arizona Rising, a name that was selected this week from hundreds of entries in the company’s Name the Arizona Balloon contest. Bev C. King submitted the winning entry and wins a hot air balloon ride for two. The Arizona Rising balloon joins its sister hot air balloon in the Valley of the Sun, a balloon which was purchased to celebrate the state’s 100th birthday.
“The Arizona Rising hot air balloon joins our 25 hot air balloon fleet and will be used to promote tourism and bucket list adventures throughout the Valley of the Sun,” said Scott Appelman, President of Rainbow Ryders Hot Air Balloon Ride Company. “The balloon will also travel to other cities for special events including the Albuquerque International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta and the Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift-Off in.”
In Phoenix, the weather allows for year-round flights, allowing visitors the chance to see the valley from the air throughout every season. Riders can choose a sunrise ride, sunset ride, a gourmet breakfast or dinner ride or a private ride.
In addition to the new balloon, Appelman announced later this month he will be opening a new 12,000 square foot Adventure Center and office at 715 E. Covey Lane near the Phoenix Deer Valley Airport. He will be hiring 10 new people, who will join the 30-person Phoenix team.
