On July 12th, 2016 at approximately 12:13 A.M., Prescott Police Officers responded to a report of a physical domestic altercation which was in progress in the area of the 600 block of Campbell Street. Upon arrival, Officers located a 28 year old female who had been stabbed in the abdomen, suffering serious injuries. The female victim relayed to Officers on scene that her boyfriend, 33 year old Tony Gray of Buckeye had broken into her home, stabbed her and taken a three year old child the two have in common.
A very short time later, Prescott Police Officers located a vehicle being driven by Gray and attempted a traffic stop. Gray failed to stop for officers and continued driving on State Route 69 towards Prescott Valley. Officers followed the vehicle at a safe distance, however eventually did catch up to the suspect when his vehicle stopped in front of a home in the 5200 Block of Ramada Drive in Prescott Valley. Officers were able to take Gray into custody and recovered the three year old child. Thankfully, the child was uninjured during the incident.
The female victim did sustain life threatening injuries and was flown from Prescott to a Phoenix area hospital where she is being treated for her injuries. Her current condition is unknown.
The male suspect, Tony Gray was booked into the Yavapai County Jail for charges including attempted homicide per domestic violence, endangerment per domestic violence, kidnapping, resisting arrest, and unlawful flight from law enforcement.
