Joan Collins Headlines 2013 Sedona International Film Festival

Helen Stephenson

It's almost time.

Winter is here and that crisp feel in the air immediately brings to mind one thing to real indie film lovers – The Sedona International Film Festival is close at hand!

Advance-sale passes and packages are now available for the 19th annual Sedona International Film Festival, a nine-day event featuring more than 145 films, workshops, parties and Academy-Award winning actors, directors, producers and screenwriters.

The festival will bring full-length features, documentaries, shorts, animated, student films and foreign films, plus Family and Classics series, the latter with TCM Host Robert Osborne choosing and introducing the films.  The lineup of films will be announced in January.

British actress Joan Collins, perhaps best known as Alexis Carrington in the popular 1980s television show Dynasty, will be given a Life-Time Achievement Award by the Sedona Fest. Collins' career spans more than 60 years in film, television and stage.  She made her Hollywood debut in Howard Hawks' Land of the Pharaohs in 1955 and appeared in Island in the Sun in 1957.

Now through December 31st, there is a 20 percent discounts on most ticket packages. Priority Pass holders are the first to be able to select tickets to the individual films as well as other benefits including being first to be admitted into the theater for screenings. Platinum All-Access Passes are $720 before Dec. 31 and $900 after that date.  Gold Priority Passes are $380 before Dec. 31 and $475 after.  Members pay $361 in advance. Gold Passes include priority tickets and seating to all films. Ticket packages are $190 in advance for the 20-ticket package, $200 after Dec. 31 and members pay $180.  The 10-ticket package is $95 in advance, $100 after Dec. 31 and members pay $90 in advance.  Full-time students can get the 10-ticket package for $80.

Film Festival workshops are open to the public every morning from Tuesday through Saturday during Festival week.

Packages, other than for full-time students, can be purchased online at www.sedonafilm.org or through the Festival Box office at (928) 282-1177.  Student packages must be purchased through the Box Office and student ID's are required.
