It was a weekend full of politics, food and strategy for AzFRW members.
The Arizona Federation of Republican Women (AzFRW) gathered at the Wyndham Garden Hotel this weekend for their Summer State meeting. Hundreds of women and AZFRW guests were on hand to hear Secretary of State Ken Bennett, Speaker of the House Andy Tobin and The Kitchen Cabinet founder Sonja Eddings Brown speak on a wide variety of topics including, the Constitution, accomplishments of the 2012 Arizona Legislature and the upcoming 2012 propositions and candidates.
Dubbed the "Spirit of the Revolution Summer Meeting" by AzFRW President Mary Williams (who hails from Prescott Valley), attendees appeared to be inspired and motivated by the speakers and workshops offered.
First up on Friday night, Secretary of State Ken Bennett, who gave not only a visual object lesson on the Constitution, but taught these Republican ladies and gentlemen a new song, that had them alternating between laughter and applause:
Next was Speaker of the House Andy Tobin, with a focus on "What the Media Won't Tell You." Explaining several of the key accomplishments from the 2012 legislative term, Tobin also pointed out coming battles ahead,
Saturday, the AzFRW awarded ASU student Randi Fielding the 2012-13 Laura Bush Scholarship.
And, finally, Sonja Eddings Brown introduced the attendees to the Information Super Highway for Women. Speaking from a desire to ensure that women vote, Brown walked through her website The Kitchen Cabinet, demonstrating several key features. Are you not sure if you're registered to vote? The Kitchen Cabinet website will let you know, and will even provide a voter registration form for every state if it's needed.
