The amount raised for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale rose from $25,500 at last year’s show to over $60,000 in 2015. In total, $85,000 has been raised for the charitable organization over the two years that the event has been held.
“Thank you to all of our sponsors, exhibitors and spectators who came out and supported our show this year, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale,” said Peter Volny, event founder and organizer. “We had four lone sponsors in 2014, and that number grew to 46 in 2015. Spectator attendance was estimated at about 10,000 over the day. No doubt the combination of the spectacular setting and a beautiful sunny day helped! ”
The show was officially opened By Bob Bondurant, one of America’s most successful race car drivers and an Arizona resident, together with the Mayor of Fountain Hills, Linda Kavanagh. At the start of the show they announced, “Gentlemen, and Ladies, start your engines!” 400 cars fired up their engines simultaneously to an enthusiastic and appreciative audience.
The range of cars displayed included classic pre-war, American muscle cars, modern supercars, and almost every brand of European sports cars. Participating car clubs included Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Jaguar, Corvette, Viper, Lotus, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and others.
